Interim Executive Board

Please find below details of how our Interim Executive Board is structured, including their names and responsibilities.

Jill Pullen

Jill Pullen is an education consultant with significant experience of chairing IEBs in Essex and across London. Jill worked as a long-standing primary Head teacher before moving into education consultancy. In her role as a consultant, she has chaired IEBs, is a schools’ adjudicator and a member of the School Teachers Review Board. Jill has chaired 5 IEBs for Essex County Council and is currently the chair of Stapleford Abbotts Primary School.

Christine Alexander

Christine worked as a teacher for thirty-seven years with the London Borough of Newham.  For twenty-three years she was a head teacher in two Newham schools.  In her last school, Colegrave Primary School, the last Ofsted inspection was in February 2012 when the overall grading was 'good' with an 'outstanding grade' for leadership and management. In 2012/13 Colegrave was among the top 1% of schools nationally for progress between KS1 and KS2. Christine was the lead officer for an initial teacher training consortium, SCITTELS, and in the last two inspections, it received 'outstanding' grades. Christine is a trained Ofsted Inspector and currently working for Challenge Partners as a Lead Reviewer.  She has provided additional leadership capacity in an All Through School has conducted school reviews in a number of schools and works regularly with a multi-academy trust in inner London and a small school in Sussex.  Christine has been part of four IEBs.  She is a trustee of a recently formed MAT and a governor of a SEBD school.

Ian Morton

Ian Morton worked for fifteen years as the head teacher of two large primary schools in the London Borough of Newham. After leaving headship he became the coordinator of the North London SEN Regional Hub, developing co-operation and collaboration between local authority special education needs departments across north London. He has also worked as a professional tutor in initial teacher training. He has been a school governor and a member of several IEBs in Newham, the London Borough of Havering and in Essex.

Tosca Boothman

Tosca Boothman has worked across schools in Southend, Essex and Hertfordshire providing independent advice and support.  She has been a Governor for 12 years at a large Infants School (which acquired academy status in August 2011), four of which were as COG.  Wealth of experience serving on six IEB’s across Essex. Currently serving at a Basildon Primary School, having been in place since December 2015. Vice Chair of Essex School Governors’ Association and a member of the South Essex Children’s Partnership Board. Director/Trustee of an Academy Trust since its inception in 2014.  The Multi-Academy Trust is currently responsible for three primary schools in Mid/South  Essex.
